Extended Learning

Co-curricular Activities

Co-curricular activities are offered as part of the extended curriculum at Newlands Karachi and are designed to give our students real-life learning opportunities. They include:

  • Opportunities to enrich student learning within and beyond the classroom
  • Structured activities offering life skills
  • Skill-based report each term, enriching the students’ portfolio
  • The Duke of Edinburgh International Award
  • Expert coaches who are carefully selected to ensure the safety of your child

PYP Clubs Grade 1-4

Robotics

This club aims to teach students the fundamentals of programming, including using software to design and create working models.

Dance

In the Dance Club, the students discover the rhythm of joy and express themselves through movement. Experienced instructors guide each step, ensuring a fun and educational experience.

Young Chef

The Young Chef Club introduces students to the culinary world, from its fundamentals, like handling utensils and managing temperatures, to following recipes and creating healthy food.

 

Quality teaching, an enabling environment, and the will to improve on our work are integral to the Newlands philosophy and will remain our focus for the coming years. We are looking forward to creating exciting possibilities for learning, development, and growth in the years ahead and are enthusiastic about continuing as members of a community of lifelong learners.

 

Music

The Music Club focuses on skill development, ongoing learning, the
responsibility of learners as musicians, time management, and motor skills.
Its activities include:
● Learning how to play instruments
● Vocal exercises
● Creating music in a team
● Writing lyrics
● Understanding song structures
● Understanding fractions in music
● Creating music from non-traditional instruments

Sports Programme

Sports provide a platform for physical fitness, teamwork, and personal growth. They promote discipline, resilience, and healthy competition, fostering camaraderie and a sense of achievement among participants.
